What is busted or bailed live?
Busted or bailed live is a crash-type game dressed as a police chase. Live Casino Comparer says a police car chases a suspect vehicle down a highway, and the distance between them at the end sets the payout multiplier for each betting position.
A third bet, on the vehicles crashing, gives the game’s biggest payout and sets the other two positions to zero.
CrashKing calls it Playtech’s live crash-style game show, with a live presenter adding atmosphere.
Who makes busted or bailed live?
Playtech. Livedealer.org says Playtech released Busted or Bailed in December as part of its live games suite, and Live Casino Comparer reviews it because it sits in the Playtech Live Casino lobby.
CrashKing places the release late in the year as well.

Is it a real live game?
Only the presenter is live. Livedealer.org says outcomes are entirely RNG-generated, with a presenter calling the computer-generated action from a small inset window, much like Evolution’s Stock Market Live.
CrashKing says the results come from a random number draw, not a real event, and the presenter has no effect on the outcome.
Mega Casino describes the presenter as a live news reporter covering the chase in busted or bailed live.
How does a round of busted or bailed live work?
Bet, watch the chase, collect. CrashKing says each round opens with a 10-second betting window, then the chase plays out for 10 seconds and the game software picks the result.

- Both vehicles start with a multiplier of around 1x.

Can you bet on Busted and Bailed together?
No. Live Casino Comparer and CrashKing both say you cannot bet on Busted and Bailed in the same round, but you can combine either one with the Crash bet.
Livedealer.org explains why the block exists: equal bets on both sides would cancel out, like red and black on a roulette wheel with no zero.
So each round of busted or bailed live is one side, plus an optional Crash bet.
How do the multipliers move?
In opposite directions. Livedealer.org says the Busted and Bailed multipliers change constantly with the distance between the vehicles, and that during the chase they sum to 2.
Its example round ended with Busted at 0.4x and Bailed at 1.6x: a $1 Busted bet returned $0.40, and a $1 Bailed bet returned $1.60.
Live Casino Comparer says both multipliers start at around 1x when the chase begins in busted or bailed live.
What happens when a side reaches 2x?
The chase ends. Live Casino Comparer says that if a vehicle reaches 2.0x, the other vehicle’s multiplier is set to zero, and the winning vehicle gets a multiplier boost up to 5x.
That is where the 5x top comes from. Without a boost, the multipliers stay within the 2x total.
The boost is what lifts the return above the even split, as Livedealer.org notes for busted or bailed live.
What does the Crash bet do?
It pays 10x and wipes the other bets. Live Casino Comparer says that if a crash occurs, Busted and Bailed bets are lost and a winning Crash bet pays 10x.
Livedealer.org calls the Crash the game’s equivalent of the green zero on a roulette wheel.
The Crash is what gives the house its edge on the Busted and Bailed bets in busted or bailed live.
What does a typical round return?
Close to the stake, either way. Since the two sides split about 2x between them, one side usually ends above 1x and the other below, so a Busted or Bailed bet usually returns a partial loss or a modest profit.
If the chase ends level, both sides sit near 1x and a bet returns about its stake.
The bigger outcomes in busted or bailed live are a boosted win up to 5x, or a Crash that takes the whole stake.
What is the RTP of busted or bailed live?
99% on Busted or Bailed and 95% on Crash. Live Casino Comparer, CrashKing and Mega Casino all give both figures.
That is a 1% house edge on the main bets and 5% on the Crash bet.
CrashKing says the 99% makes the main bets some of the most player-friendly bets in any live casino game.
How often does a crash happen?
About one round in ten and a half, on the numbers. If the Crash pays 10 times the stake in total, its 95% RTP means a crash in 9.5% of rounds.
No source publishes the crash rate, so this is arithmetic on the RTP, not an official figure.
At about 180 rounds an hour, that is about 17 crashes an hour in busted or bailed live.
What do the multipliers average?
About 1.094x in non-crash rounds, on the same arithmetic. With crashes in 9.5% of rounds, a 99% RTP on Busted or Bailed needs the side multiplier to average about 1.094x across the other 90.5%.
Without boosts, the two sides split 2x and each would average 1x.
So the 5x boosts add about 9.4% to the average side in busted or bailed live, which, after the crashes, leaves the 99% return.
Why is the edge so small?
Because the sides are close to a fair split. Livedealer.org says the multipliers summing to 2 would imply no house edge at all, and the occasional 5x would even tip it toward the player, if not for the Crash.
The Crash takes both main bets. That is the house edge.
Livedealer.org sums it up: no player edge, but a respectable return on the busted or bailed live main bets.
What does the payout range look like?
From 0.01x to 5x. Live Casino Comparer says Busted or Bailed pays between 0.01x and 5x, and the Crash bet pays 10x.
Live Casino Comparer notes that the original stake is not returned on top: a 1.5x result returns $1.50 on $1, a $0.50 profit.
A result under 1x is a partial loss, so a $1 bet at 0.4x in busted or bailed live returns $0.40.
What does an hour cost?
About $1.80 at $1 a round on Busted or Bailed. At about 180 rounds an hour, $180 is staked, and the 1% edge costs $1.80 on average.
The same hour on the Crash bet costs about $9 at its 5% edge.
The low edge on the main bets makes busted or bailed live one of the cheapest live games per dollar staked.
Is there a strategy?
No. Live Casino Comparer says it is all luck and that an RNG decides the outcome, and CrashKing says the only decisions are which bet to place and how much to stake.

How does a small Crash bet change a side bet?

The average cost per round rises from $0.010 to $0.015, since the Crash bet carries a 5% edge.
That trade suits players who dislike losing a whole round to a crash in busted or bailed live and accept a slightly higher cost.
Does waiting for a crash work?
No. Live Casino Comparer suggests playing the Crash bet after ten rounds without one, but each round is a fresh RNG draw, so a run without a crash does not make the next one more likely.
On the arithmetic above, 36.9% of ten-round stretches pass with no crash at all.

How volatile is busted or bailed live?
Low to medium. CrashKing rates the volatility low to medium, since main-bet payouts are capped at 5x, and calls it a game for frequent small returns rather than big swings.
Live Casino Comparer makes a similar point more bluntly, asking who gets excited about a 1.5x payout.
The Crash bet is the only high-variance option, at 10x. It wins about one round in ten and a half and loses the rest, so its results come in long gaps between hits.
