What is always 6 blackjack live?
It is live blackjack with one fixed card. Evolution says the dealer’s open card is set as a 6 every round, which gives players more predictability and sharper decisions while keeping the familiar blackjack flow.
The aim does not change. Players try to beat the dealer without going over 21, per Evolution and the game’s published rules.
Evolution added the game to its live blackjack range, and OLG lists an always 6 blackjack live table for players in Ontario.

Why is the dealer’s card always a 6?
It is the game’s hook. Betsson Group’s launch note calls the 6 the weakest up-card and pitches the game on turning the dealer’s weakness into the player’s win.
The rules published for always 6 blackjack live say the dealer does not deal a first card to the dealer’s own hand at all. That hand always starts from a 6, and the second dealer card is dealt face down after the players’ cards.
The rules describe that 6 as having no suit. It is a fixed marker at the dealer’s spot, not a card drawn for the round.
What does a winning hand pay?
0.61:1. The rules for always 6 blackjack live list a winning hand at 0.61:1, and Betsson Group’s launch note gives the same figure. On a $10 bet, a win earns $6.10.
That reduced payout is the price of the fixed 6. A player sees the dealer’s weak start every round, and the house takes its share back on every win.
A win after a double pays the same rate on the doubled stake. A $20 doubled hand that wins earns $12.20.
What does a Blackjack pay?
3:2. OLG and the published rules both list Blackjack at 3:2, so a $10 Blackjack earns $15 while an ordinary $10 win earns $6.10.
The rules say a Blackjack counts only on the first two cards. A 21 made after a split is not a Blackjack, and a Blackjack beats any other 21. A winning split hand of 21 is therefore paid as an ordinary win, at 0.61:1.
The dealer can never hold a Blackjack in always 6 blackjack live. With a 6 as the first card, the dealer’s best two-card total is a soft 17.
How does a round work?
In six steps, per the published always 6 blackjack live rules. The dealer skips the first dealer card, since the 6 is already in place, and every player decision happens against that 6.
- Place the main bet, plus Perfect Pairs or Lucky Ladies if wanted.
- The dealer deals one card face up to each seat, starting from the dealer’s left.
- A second face-up card goes to each seat, and the dealer’s second card is dealt face down.
- Each player chooses Hit, Stand, Double, Split or Cash Out.
- The dealer turns the face-down card, draws on 16 or less and stands on soft 17 or more.
- Hands closer to 21 than the dealer’s win at 0.61:1, as does every standing hand when the dealer busts.
Ties are a push and the stake comes back, per the rules. A hand over 21 loses at once.
What are the dealer’s rules?
The dealer hits 16 or less and stands on soft 17 or more. OLG states the same rule, and the felt in always 6 blackjack live footage reads that the dealer must stand on 17 and must draw to 16.
With a 6 showing, the dealer has to draw at least once unless the face-down card is an Ace, which makes a soft 17. Any 10-value card leaves the dealer on 16 and forces another card.
That forced draw is where the 6 helps the player. The dealer builds from a weak start on every hand.
Which player options are there?
Hit, Stand, Double, Split and Cash Out. Evolution lists Hit, Stand, Double and Split, and the published rules add a Cash Out option on the main bet.
The rules allow a double on any first two cards but not after a split. Equal-value cards can be split once per hand, and each split Ace receives one card only, which OLG confirms.
The rules say only the options open at that moment are active, so a Split button lights up only when the first two cards are a pair.
How does the decision timer work?
A player can decide early. The rules say the first decision can be made as soon as the first two cards arrive, before the dealer reaches that seat, and the dealer acts on it when the turn comes.
If no decision is made, a timer window appears, and when it runs out the game hits a total of 11 or less and stands on 12 or more. A double the balance cannot cover becomes a Hit, and an unfunded split follows the same 11-or-less rule.
In always 6 blackjack live, every one of those choices is made against the same dealer 6.
What do three sample hands pay?
Take three $10 hands at an always 6 blackjack live table. A Blackjack earns $15, a standing 19 that beats the dealer’s final 18 earns $6.10, and a doubled 11 that wins earns $12.20 on the $20 stake.
Together, those three winning hands return $33.30 in profit on $40 staked. The Blackjack pays the most because it keeps the full 3:2 rate.
On the other side, a hand that busts loses its $10 at once, and a 17 against a dealer’s 17 is a push.
How does Cash Out work?
It ends the hand for a set amount. The rules say Cash Out pays between 0.64 and 1.35 times the main bet, based on the player’s total and the dealer’s card, which here is always the 6.
On a $10 always 6 blackjack live bet, that is $6.40 to $13.50. Cash Out is not offered after a double, after a bust, or on 21 or a Blackjack.
Taking it every time returns 95.20%, per the rules, against 99.34% on the main bet with optimal play. The button is a convenience, not a better deal.
Cash Out covers the main bet only. Perfect Pairs and Lucky Ladies are settled on their own terms, as at any always 6 blackjack live seat.
What is the RTP of always 6 blackjack live?
99.34% on the main bet with optimal strategy, per the published rules. The rules add that the figure is based on the first hand dealt from the shoe.
| Bet | RTP | Long-run cost per $100 |
|---|---|---|
| Main bet | 99.34% | $0.66 |
| Perfect Pairs | 93.89% | $6.11 |
| Lucky Ladies | 91.42% | $8.58 |
| Cash Out on every hand | 95.20% | $4.80 |
The main bet is the cheapest bet at an always 6 blackjack live table by a wide margin. Both side bets cost more than nine times as much per dollar.
What does a hundred hands cost?
About $6.60 at $10 a hand with optimal play. One hundred hands put $1,000 on the always 6 blackjack live main bet, and at 99.34% the long-run cost is 0.66% of that.
Adding a $5 Perfect Pairs bet each hand puts $500 more in play, at a cost of about $30.55. A $5 Lucky Ladies bet adds about $42.90.
Taking Cash Out on every hand instead of playing on would raise the main-bet cost from $6.60 to $48.
Does basic strategy still apply?
Not unchanged. The published rules say the optimal strategy differs from normal blackjack because the dealer’s open card is always a 6, and the game help links to a strategy chart for this table.
The 99.34% return assumes that optimal play. Decisions copied from a standard chart can cost more, since every ordinary win at an always 6 blackjack live table pays 0.61:1.
Our online blackjack strategies for Canadians page covers standard strategy for comparison.
Is insurance offered?
Not in practice. The rules mention insurance only for a dealer’s open card that is an Ace, and in always 6 blackjack live that card is always a 6.
For the same reason the dealer never peeks for Blackjack. A 6 and one more card cannot make 21.
What is the Perfect Pairs bet?
A side bet on the first two cards forming a pair. The rules list three kinds: a Perfect Pair in the same suit, a Coloured Pair of the same colour and a Mixed Pair of different colours.
| Hand | Pays | On a $5 bet |
|---|---|---|
| Perfect Pair | 25:1 | $125 |
| Coloured Pair | 12:1 | $60 |
| Mixed Pair | 6:1 | $30 |
Side bets at the always 6 blackjack live table win or lose on their own, whatever happens to the main hand, per the rules.
What is Lucky Ladies?
A side bet on the first two cards totalling 20 or holding a Queen. The rules list six winning hands, topped by a pair of Queens of Hearts at 200:1.
| Hand | Pays | On a $5 bet |
|---|---|---|
| Pair of Queens of Hearts | 200:1 | $1,000 |
| Two Queens | 20:1 | $100 |
| Suited 20 | 7:1 | $35 |
| Any 20 | 3:1 | $15 |
| One Queen of Hearts | 2:1 | $10 |
| Any Queen | 1:1 | $5 |
Betsson Group’s launch note highlights the 200:1 top payout. At 91.42%, Lucky Ladies is also the most expensive bet at the always 6 blackjack live table.
How many players can join?
Seven in the seats and any number behind them. Betsson Group describes a seven-seat always 6 blackjack live table, and OLG says Bet Behind lets unlimited extra players join each round.
The rules add that one player can take up to seven seats to play separate hands in the same round.
A Bet Behind stake follows the seated player’s decisions and pays the same as a normal bet. It is refunded if that player sits the hand out, and no one can bet behind their own hand.
The rules also let a Bet Behind player choose in advance whether to match a double or a split made by the seated player.
What do Hot Players and Deal Now do?
Both are table tools described in the always 6 blackjack live rules. A Hot Players icon marks the seated player with the longest current winning streak, with a number showing how many rounds in a row they have won.
The Deal Now button appears only when a player sits alone at the table with at least the minimum bet placed. Pressing it starts the round at once.
How do the betting buttons work?
The rules list three. Repeat places the last round’s bets again, Double doubles the bets on the table up to the maximum, and Undo removes the last chip placed.
On a keyboard, the space bar repeats the last bet and a second press doubles it. Ctrl+Z, Delete or Backspace undoes the last chip, and holding the key for three seconds clears every bet.
On desktop, a main bet placed on one seat is copied to all of a player’s seats at the always 6 blackjack live table.
How do you query a past round?
With the game code. The rules say every round carries a unique code that shows its start time in GMT, and players can quote it, or screenshot it, when they contact support.
The game history lists a player’s own always 6 blackjack live rounds and results, which is the first place to check a disputed hand.
What does the table show?
The dealer, the fixed 6 and the rules on the felt. Always 6 blackjack live footage shows a 6 card at the dealer’s spot next to a face-down card, and a Dealer’s Hand display reading 6.
The felt reads Always 6 Blackjack and Blackjack Pays 3 to 2, above the dealer’s stand-and-draw rule. Perfect Pairs, Lucky Ladies and Bet Behind spots sit in front of each seat.
The clip’s table header reads Classic Always 6 Blackjack 3, with limits of €5 to €7,000.
Each seat carries a nickname. The rules say the nickname at a seat marks the player who makes every decision for that hand, including for anyone betting behind it.
What are the bet limits?
They vary by table and casino. One always 6 blackjack live clip shows a €5 to €7,000 table, and the Italian operator Sisal lists €1 to €2,500 in its copy of the rules.
The limits panel in the game shows the range in force. The rules note that the panel can be updated from time to time.

How does it compare with standard live blackjack?
It trades uncertainty for a smaller win. Evolution says the fixed 6 reduces uncertainty and gives players more insight, and the rules cut an ordinary win to 0.61:1 in return.
Blackjack still pays 3:2, the dealer still draws to 16 and the shoe still holds six decks. Our live blackjack page covers the standard tables.
Is always 6 blackjack live on mobile?
Yes. The published rules cover play on desktop, tablet and smartphone. On a phone or tablet, a bet placed on one seat is copied to all of a player’s seats, side bets included.
A Focus Mode hides the other players’ activity, which helps on a small screen, per the rules.
What does a Canadian player check before playing?
Four items: the limits panel, the 0.61:1 win payout, the strategy chart in the game help and the operator’s registration. All four are visible before the first hand of always 6 blackjack live.
Set a money limit and a time limit first. Players in Ontario who want support can call ConnexOntario at 1-866-531-2600, the number OLG also shows on its game page.
Our page on responsible gambling practices for Canadians covers limits and tools.
Which pages are worth reading next?
Four pages sit closest to this one. Each covers another live blackjack table or blackjack variant tied to the subjects above, and each one stands on its own.
Always 6 blackjack live shows the dealer’s start before the hand begins and charges for it on every win. The 6 is free to see; the 0.61:1 is what it costs.
